Hockey is an active, sweaty game. Cleaning your equipment not only prevents the buildup of bacteria, but it also prolongs the lifespan of all your gear. And, let’s face it, dirty equipment does not smell good.
Throw dirty jerseys and hockey socks into the washing machine and wash according to their directions. Then hang to dry.
STEP 2
Apply disinfectant spray
Use a good disinfectant spray to kill any bacteria and eliminate odour. Spray down all your equipment, including your skates. Don’t forget the inside of your hockey bag, too.
STEP 3
Air it out
After you’ve sprayed everything, lay it out to dry thoroughly before packing it up again. A drying rack is a handy way to do this without taking up too much space.
STEP 4
Clean helmet
To clean the inside of your helmet, wet a towel in soapy water and wipe down the interior, including the face mask and chin cup. Wipe away any soapy residue thoroughly with a clean, damp towel. Let Dry.
